Woodstock

Dairy Capital at the head of the Thames

Woodstock in brief

Woodstock is Oxford County's seat at the head of the Thames River, about halfway between Toronto and London. European colonists and United Empire Loyalists began settling around 1800 after John Graves Simcoe eyed the site for a town.

The city bills itself as the Dairy Capital of Canada and The Friendly City. Main-street brick and county fairgrounds still nod to the farm country that paid the bills.
