RIM Park still surprises

The Laurel Greenway is planned as a nearly two-kilometre linear park along Laurel Trail and Laurel Creek from Waterloo Park to Weber Street.

Walk or drive through Waterloo long enough and RIM Park comes up. East-end recreation campus with the Manulife Sportsplex indoors and lit fields outdoors. Locals treat it as the default for ice, turf, and the Walter Bean trail.

East of the core, recreation talk defaults to RIM Park on University Avenue East. The Manulife Sportsplex and Healthy Living Centre holds the ice pads and field house, while the Walter Bean Grand River Trail runs through the outdoor grounds for 11 kilometres. Laurel Creek’s larger story still points toward the Grand River, which is why trail and greenway language feels connected even when you are only walking from Uptown to the park.
