  Churchill River Diversion raised Burntwood flows enough that Thompson had to modify its river intake—municipal supply is tied to Manitoba Hydro’s northern diversion system.

City publishes annual water quality reports (province-reviewed). 2025 engineering RFP covers mechanical/electrical/SCADA upgrades and potential UV integration into the existing process; full coagulation/filtration train details are not fully published in open city pages.
