Nechako River valley aquifers (GUDI wells)
Fraser River valley aquifers (GUDI wells)
Seven well locations, nine booster stations, and about fifteen reservoirs serve the main city system covering most developed areas. Seasonal Fraser-bank wells add summer capacity; one southwest well serves a separate local system.
City materials describe aquifers as under direct influence of the Nechako and Fraser, yet residents receive groundwater that is chlorinated rather than conventionally coagulated/filtered at a single river plant.
Distributed well chlorination facilities (no central filtration plant)
Multiple groundwater wellfields (including major Nechako radial-collector wells such as PW605/PW601/PW660) disinfect with on-site generated sodium hypochlorite before distribution; soil/gravel provides natural filtration.
