Forbes Lake Reservoir (protected watershed)
New Glasgow Water Utility also sells to Westville, portions of Pictou County, and selected Trenton customers; supports Aberdeen Regional Hospital and major industries.
Forbes Lake was engineered as a 72-ha reservoir in 1912 and designated a provincial Protected Water Area in 2003.

DAF plant (2000)—then among the largest in Eastern Canada. Serves ~15,000; average ~8,200 m³/day. Filter expansion funded in later years.
