  Okanagan Lake

  City Water Utility is one of several potable providers inside Kelowna; it serves a large share of residents from lake intakes through pump stations, reservoirs, and an extensive pipe network. Upland creeks supply non-potable irrigation in some areas (e.g., Hydraulic Creek / Mill Creek), separate from lake drinking water.

  Because Okanagan Lake water is largely unfiltered, the City annually seeks a filtration exemption from Interior Health and relies on dual UV-plus-chlorine barriers plus watershed monitoring.
