Winter River watershed groundwater (municipal wellfields)
Charlottetown Water and Sewer Utility extracts from about thirteen wells across municipal wellfields in the Winter River watershed (city materials variously describe three or four wellfields) and distributes citywide. PEI as a province is entirely dependent on groundwater for drinking water.
Fluoridation continues because of a 1967 plebiscite. Utility emphasizes wellfield protection and land-use risk management north of the city where wells sit amid farmland.
Charlottetown Water Utility disinfection / fluoridation facilities
