Treated water is pumped from the facility into the municipal distribution system serving residential, institutional, industrial, and commercial customers under a provincial Office of Drinking Water operating licence.
Brandon has drawn Assiniboine River water since 1893; river flow at the city is strongly influenced by the Shellmouth Dam upstream near Russell.
