Abbotsford Mission Water & Sewer Commission operates regional sources, treatment, transmission, and two regional reservoirs; Abbotsford and Mission each run their own distribution networks. Groundwater wells in the Abbotsford-Sumas Aquifer augment surface supply.
Watering restriction stages are tied to Dickson Lake levels in the Norrish Creek system—the main surface source for both Abbotsford and Mission.
Norrish Creek Water Treatment Plant
Primary regional plant; slow sand and/or ultrafiltration, then chlorination with ammonia addition downstream at Bell Road to form chloramine.
Cannell Lake Water Treatment Plant
UV and chlorine disinfection for Cannell Lake water; ammonia at Cannons Pit; supplements high-elevation Mission areas and backs up Norrish supply.
